History: Roses have a long and colorful history. They have been symbols of love and beauty for thousands of years. According to fossil evidence, the rose is 35 million years old. However the cultivation of roses most likely began some 5,000 years ago in Asia. Since than, they have been part of the human experience.

Greek mythology tells us that it was Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who gave the rose its name, but it was the goddess of flowers, Chloris, who created it.

The ancient Romans were great rose lovers. Their feasts might have been confused with celebrations of the flower. General Safety Information: Bulgarian Rose Otto Essential oil is listed as non-toxic, non-irritating and non-sensitizing.

Important: Do not apply undiluted essential oils, absolutes or other concentrated essences directly to the skin. They must be diluted!

If you have any medical conditions please consult your doctor before using any essential oil.

Skin patch test - It is strongly recommended that you perform a skin patch test before using an essential oil and/or any other oil for a first time. Rub a diluted drop on your wrist and if the area gets red or itches then wash it off right away with cold water, and don't use that oil. If there is no reaction in couple of hours you can use the oil.

Pregnancy - If no other special precautions are indicated, when pregnant, you should be extra careful. Use only 1/2 the strength of essential oil you may usually use. Don't use any during the first 3 months. Consult your physician before use.

Children - Use caution when using oils with children and give children only the gentlest oils at extremely low doses. It is safest to consult a qualified aromatherapy practitioner before using oils with children.

Adult - 2 to 5 drops of essential oil per tsp. of carrier oil. (1 tsp. ≈ 5 ml).

Elderly people - it is recommended to use 1/2 strength of adult.

Eyes: Don't get essential oils in your eyes, if you do then rinse it out right away with plenty of fresh water.

Oral intake: Do not take any oils internally without consultation from a qualified aromatherapy practitioner.
